The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) was notified on September 7, 2005. The mandate of the Act is to provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.	Any adult member (18 years or older) of a rural household who is willing to do unskilled manual labor is eligible to register for MGNREGA. This scheme provides at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to such individuals. The individual must also reside in a rural area. Beneficiary:
