Eligibility Criteria

1. Either party must be a citizen of India
2. Either one of the parties must be a permanent resident of North Tripura District
3. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
4. Both parties must give free consent and not be in a prohibited degree of relationship
5. Neither party should have a living spouse at the time of marriage

Required Documents

From Both Parties:

1. Proof of Age (Birth Certificate / Madhyamik Admit / PAN Card / Passport)
2. Address Proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Passport)
3. Photographs- Two recent passport-size photos of each party
4. Affidavit by both parties stating:
   • Date of Birth
   • Marital Status (unmarried/divorcee/widow)
   • Nationality/PRTC
   • Consent for marriage

From Witnesses (3 persons):

1. Identity Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / Passport)
2. Address Proof

Procedure

1. Submit a written notice in Form I to the Marriage Officer of the district where at least one party has resided for not less than 30 days
2. Observe a mandatory 30-day public notice period
3. If no objection is raised, the marriage will be solemnized and registered in the presence of 3 witnesses
4. A Marriage Certificate will be issued after registration
