Required Documents

Applicants should keep the following documents ready in clear PDF or JPEG format for uploading:

1. Affidavit declaring self-perceived gender identity (Form-2 of Transgender Rules, 2020 — available on the portal)
2. Aadhaar Card
3. Passport-size Photograph
4. Residential Address Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / Utility Bill, etc.)
5. Email ID and Mobile Number (for registration and communication)

Note: No medical or physical examination is required for issuing the certificate on the basis of self-perceived gender identity.

Citizens can apply through the official National Portal for Transgender Persons:

https://transgender.dosje.gov.in

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit the portal and Register/Login as a new user
2. Select “Apply for Certificate of Identity”
3. Fill in the application form and upload the necessary documents
4. Submit for verification by the District Authority

Upon approval, the Certificate of Identity and Transgender ID Card will be issued online and can be downloaded from the portal.
